I think if you take it again you need to chill out a bit more in the run up to the exam. In my opinion your state of mind is almost important as your knowledge of concepts etc, if you go into the test stressed you will almost certainly get a sub par score. I don't know about you but if I did a CAT every day for 2 weeks I think I'd be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Personally I just relaxed and did no revision in the few days running up to my exam.

Think of it this way, if a football team practiced for the world cup by playing a friendly every day for 2 weeks, do you think they would do well in the real thing?

well it was not for 15 months that i'd prepared for....................i started prep only in june this year.............most of the colleges ask for an avg score of 600............which according to me is way above 560..........

I would seriously suggest you to take it again.....Going from 560 to 600 is easier than going from 700 to 740.

Its just a matter of nerves as you mentioned. Think about it !!

i've made up my mind on taking the exam again................need to get into the study mode again.................and I realized that the strategy of taking a Cat everyday for 12 continuous days before the exam hasn't really worked in my favor......................l

I applaud you for not giving up :-D I warn you that you have to deal with your nerves on verbal and somehow get comfortable with it!!! Try to enjoy as much as you can reading all these boring RCs and CRs... SC should improve first... go through MGMAT SC several times... know rules by heart... this will boost your confidence!!!

Good luck!!!

Kudos to your spirit ! I would have done exactly the same had I been you.
This time think where you did wrong. A lot of introspection needs to done. And yes! give rest to your mind for the last fews days. And I think you should have an error log.

jyotsnasarabu,

You have got a very good score on math, congrats on that!
The villain for you was the verbal.

I am no expert to teach you, but I feel that
you should take a closer look at your verbal fundamentals and see if you got them right..

It is perfectly natural to go through the motions of covering many question sets without being clear on concepts, especially, when one doesn't like those types of questions.

I would suggest these:
1) Develop a liking- really like them(The passages, CR, and SC)
2) Initially, Take your time and get the answers right during the tests; worry abt and attend to the timing only after you are doing reasonably well and feeling confident abt picking winners.
3) Join a coaching for verbal if that is possible and focus on learning as if you are learning English for the first time.
4) Read basic grammar book(s) and make your own notes.
5) Try to really 'get it' by being sincere with the questions; don't try to remember questions or too many techniques. Focus on concepts.
When I ever I do well in my verbal questions , the right answer is staring at me. I am sure you will have this exp. too.
6) With 48 in math, you have the sharpness, logic and timing; You can do well in verbal as well.

Wish you all the best for the next take!

Really appreciate ur feedback blissful.

was able to relate to most of it.

Will attribute the score in math to the club without a doubt, the challenge tests and the forum. We have quite a few math experts on the club and some amazing analysis of the Gmatprep questions! In short, I owe my score to the club.
