A, B and C compete in x metre race. C completes the race 14 metres ahead of A. B finishes 20 metres ahead of C and 32 metres ahead of A. What is Amar’s speed?

A. 9/10th of C's speed
B. 5/8th of B's speed
C. 14/15th of A's speed
D. 10/7th of B's speed
E. 10/9th of B's speed

A-----(14)----> C
C---------(20)-------> B
A----------------(32)--------------> B

So, A covered (32-14) 18 meters, while C covered 20 meters, after B has completed the race.
So, X(20) = 18;
X = 9/10,
Option A is the correct ans IMO

Let C's speed is 1m/s and total race is of 100m.So, C reached 80m point and B reached 100 metres points(speed1.25m/s=100/80) in 80 sec.
Now, as per question when C completes the race, C & A have 14 metres distance between them that means A who was at 68m point covered 18m when C covered 20m to complete the race.
for C, 20 s = 20 m
so for A, 18m in 20 s, speed of A = 18/20 = 0.9 which is 9/10 th of C.
I feel A is the answer.

When C covers 20 metres distance in time T, in the same time A covers (32-14)=18 metres
Dc:Da=20:18
For the same time, Distance is directly proportional to the speed

Can we assume distance as 100 and do the problem. If yes please provide solution with this assumption
