Stmt 1 : Insuff

2 ^1 * 10 ^ 2 = 200 thus x + y = 3

2^ 1 * 100 ^1 = 200 thus x + y = 2

Stmt 2 Insuff
x* y = 6 ...

2 ^ 3 * 5 ^ 2 thus x + y = 5

1^6 * 200^1 thus x + y = 7

I think should be E

OA is E.. Good work!

[quote="freetheking"]a,b,x,and y are positive integers. If a^x*b^y=200, what is the value of x+y?

S1. a x+y =2
a=5, b= 2, x=2, y =4 --> x+y =6
BCE
(2)
x=2, y=3, a=5,b=2--> x+y =5
x=6, y=1, does not yield Integer values for a,b
Hence B
