probability that the marble will be red or white = probability that the marble will be red + probability that the marble will be white
probability that the marble will be red or white = 9/20+6/20 = 15/20 = 3/4

An easier approach to this problem would be :
Number of White Marbles = 20-(5+9) = 6
Now, there are only 2 possibilities : Either the marble is Blue, or it is (Red or White)
P(Blue) = 5/20 = 1/4
Thus, P (Red or White) = 1-1/4 = 3/4
Thus, Answer is A
