A carton contains 30 pens, of which 20 are blue ink pens and 10 are black ink pens. If a certain number of the pens are removed, what is the new ratio of blue ink pens to black ink pens?
(1) Of the 11 ink pens removed, 5 were black.
(2) There was 1 more blue ink pen removed than black ink pen.

The answer is A since the B doesn't give us the solution on it's own and combination of these two doesn't provide us with more info. 30-11=19 pens remained among which 5 are black and 6 are blue (Obviously). The remaining blue pens are 20-6=14 and ratio is 14/19 .

Statement A says (1) Of the 11 ink pens removed, 5 were black.
Which means it is possible that there are more than 11 pens are removed however out of 11 pens 5 are black. Lets say 15 pens have been removed and 9 are black. So after 4 Black pens are separated than of the 11 pens removed 5 are black.
