A certain car consumed 9 liters of fuel during a recent 100-kilometer road trip. Supposing that 15 liters are equal to 4 gallons, and that 5 miles are equal to 8 kilometers, approximately how many miles can the car be driven if its 12-gallon fuel tank is completely full, and its fuel consumption never varies?

(A) 190
(B) 220
(C) 250
(D) 280
(E) 310
9 litres of fuel is used for a 100 km road trip.

15 litres = 4 gallons, and

5 miles = 8 Km.

We are using a 12 gallon fuel, and we need to find the approx miles .

15 litre = 4 gallons.

Then , 12 gallons = 45 litres.

For, 9 litres used , the road trip travelled is 100 km.

for 45 litres, the km travelled was 500Km.

We know that, 5 miles = 8 Km ,

then, 500 Km = (2500/8) miles = approx 312.
