A certain city has a 1/3 chance of rain occurring on any given day. In any given 3-day period, what is the probability that the city experiences rain?

Probability of an Event Happening + Probability of that Event Not Happening = 1

Probability of Rain = 1 /3
Probability of No Rain =1- 1/3 = 2/3

For the three day period the Probability of No Rain = (2/3) * (2/3) * (2/3) = 8/27
For the three day period the Probability of Rain = 1- 8/27 = 19/27

P no rain: 2/3

so 2/3*2/3 * 2/3 = 8/27
1-8/27 = 19/27 IMO D
