Solution

Given:
• A certain company will issue 4-letter identification codes to all of its employees
• The codes will include only the letters A, C, F, H, K, Q and V
• All the letters of each code are distinct

To find:
• The number of possible codes

Approach and Working:
We can assume the 4-letter code as following: (1) (2) (3) (4)

• Possibilities for place (1) = 7
• Possibilities for place (2) = 6
• Possibilities for place (3) = 5
• Possibilities for place (4) = 4
Therefore, total number of possibilities = 7 * 6 * 5 * 4 = 840

Hence, the correct answer is option D.
