A certain encyclopedia has 20 volumes, each of which is w inches wide, k inches long and t inches thick. If all of the volumes are to be tightly packaged in one rectangular box that is k inches wide and w inches deep inside, could the inside length of the box less than 35 inches
(1) t = 1.5
(2) w=9 and k=12

The books are kept in such a way in the rectangular box that 20*t will be the length of the box.
Now from statement 1 we get length of the box as 20*1.5 =30.
Now from statement 2 "t" can take any value, which means that the length of the box can't be determined correctly.

Just for precision sake - 20*1.5 = 30
Answer A is correct - However if the answer was 35, then it would still answer the question, but it would be a negative answer, since the Q is: L<35?.
