I don‘t really get how you came to this conclusion. We don‘t need the 0.6 because we already have the two probabilities and can just calculate it. If we do, we find out the 0.6 is wrong anyway. The probability that he gets rejected from at least one job is ?(?̅ ∪ ?̅) + ?(X ∪ ?̅) + ?(?̅ ∪ Y) which is .65 and not .6 . Accordingly the right answer should be .85 and not .8 . And you should clarify in the question whether the probability that is needed is the probability for "AT LEAST one job" or "EXACTLY one job" to avoid confusion.
