The microchip is 2.5 cm which is equal 25 mm (2.5cm*10mm). The scale shows that every .05 mm of the microchip is equal to 1 cm of the blueprint. To find the radius of the blueprint (which is needed for the area) simply apply the scale to the microchip. The equation is .05 * x = 25 where x is the radius of the blueprint in cm. X = 500 and then all you need to do is apply the area formula for a circle (500 π)^2 = 250,000 * π^2 which is the answer choice C.
