You can solve this quickly by plugging in actual values.

Highest mark - Lowest mark = Range
Boys 30 - 22 = 8
Girls 30 + 5 = 35 - 15 = 20

That means the range of the class is the highest mark - lowest mark, and with our plugged numbers its 35 - 15 = 20.

If you are too lazy to calculate, you can solve this by looking at the numbers. The girls have the highest scorer in the class because their highest scorer is 5 points above the boys' highest scorer. The difference between the ranges is 12 points, with the girls having the biggest range of 20 and the boys having 8. Those 12 points are not fully catered for by the highest scorers because the difference between the highest scorers is only 5 points. That tells us that the girls not only have the highest scorer, but they also have the lowest scorer, so their range envelopes the boys' range, making the girls' range the class range as well.

Now, if you can apply this logic, you sure as hell are not lazy and can just plug in number or do the algebra 😂😂😂LOL!!!!
