Solution

Given
In this question, we are given that
    • A company consists of two departments: sales and production.
    • 30 percent of the 150 employees in the sales department received a holiday bonus and 70 percent of the 250 employees in the production department received a holiday bonus

To find
We need to determine
    • The percent of all employees did not receive a holiday bonus

Approach and Working out
In sales department,
    • Number of people who didn’t get holiday bonus = 70% of 150 = 105

In production department,
    • Number of people who didn’t get holiday bonus = 30% of 250 = 75

Total employee who didn’t get holiday bonus = 105 + 75 = 180
Total employees = 150 + 250 = 400
    • Hence, required percentage = \(\frac{180}{400} * 100\) = 45%

Thus, option B is the correct answer.

Correct Answer: Option B
