Given: A computer store sold a total of 60 computers and printers yesterday.
Asked: How many printers did the computer store sell yesterday?

(1) Of the total number of computers and printers sold by the store yesterday, 40 percent were computers.
Computers and printers sold yesterday = 60
Computers sold yesterday = 24
Printers old yesterday = 60 - 24 = 36
SUFFICIENT

(2) The store sold 12 more printers than computers yesterday.
Let the printers sold yesterday be x
x + (x -12) = 60
2x = 72
x = 36
Printers old yesterday = 36
SUFFICIENT

using statement 1

40% of 60 - 24

so sufficient since only computers and printers are sold

using statement 2

we know c + p = 60
- c + p = 12

so sufficient

I am shocked, TravisScott. Is this really a previously unposted GMAT Prep question from one of the six official practice tests, or is it a play on one? I cannot find it posted previously in the forum, in any case. Do you have a screenshot to verify the source?

do you know about this? The question looks similar to this GMAT Prep question, which also mentions a total of 60 computers and printers at a company and goes on to ask about printers.

I am curious about this one.
