Effective discount = a + b + ab/100 = - 15 - 10 + (-15)(-10)/100 = -23.5

Sale price = D * ( 1 - 23.5/100)

Sale price = .765 * D

Answer (C)

Successive doscounts = - a - b +ab/100
Putting the values,
Total discount = -15 - 10 + 150/100 = -25 + 1.5 = 23.5% discount

Hence the final price of the dress = D - 0.235D = 0.765D

Correct Option: C

After discount the price is .85D

For staff member the final price will be .85D- 10%.85D= .765D

C is the answer

The staff member pays D x 0.85 x 0.9 = 0.765D.

Answer: C

Let D = 100

So, result of 2 successive discounts is equivalent to -

\(- 15 -10 + \frac{(-15)(-10)}{100} = -25 + 1.50\) Or, \(-23.50\)

Thus, Final price will be \(100 - 23.50 = 76.50D\), look no further Answer must be (C)
