We have 4 triangle, square, circle, and rectangle which repeat one after another.
If the row ended in 'rectangle' shape, then total number of shapes would have been a multiple of 4.

However, we have 3 more shapes afterwards i.e. TSCR, TSCR, ..., TSC
The total # of shapes in a row should be = 4k+ 3 (where k is any positive integer)

(A) 12 = 4k + 3 => 4k = 9 --> in this case k will not be an integer. Hence A is not correct option.
(B) 18 = 4k + 3 => 4k = 15 --> in this case k will not be an integer. Hence B is not correct option.
(C) 26 = 4k + 3 => 4k = 23 --> in this case k will not be an integer. Hence C is not correct option.
(D) 34 = 4k + 3 => 4k = 31 --> in this case k will not be an integer. Hence D is not correct option.
(E) 47 = 4k + 3 => 4k = 44 --> in this case k =11, an integer. Hence E is correct option.
