We are informed that a 20% commission is made on the selling price of each item and further informed that total commissions of $3,200 were made on 400 items. We are to find the selling price of an item.
$3200 is made on 400 items, hence commission on an item = 3200/400 = $8
0.2*SP=8
SP=$40
The answer is option D.
