Then
(400*x)*20/100 = 3200
x=40

We are informed that a 20% commission is made on the selling price of each item and further informed that total commissions of $3,200 were made on 400 items. We are to find the selling price of an item.

$3200 is made on 400 items, hence commission on an item = 3200/400 = $8
0.2*SP=8
SP=$40

The answer is option D.

solve by using answer options
given SP ;
option A; 40$ ; the total SP 400 bags ; 1600$
and with 20% commission ; 40*1.248$*400 ; 19200 $
∆ ; commission earned ; 19200-16000 ; 3200 $
IMO A

Let P be the selling price of bag.
—> the retailer makes a 20% commission on the selling price of each bag.

By selling 400 bags, he made $3200 in commission.
P—???

\(400*P*\frac{20}{100}\)= 3200

80*P= 3200
P= 40

The answer is A

Given: 20% commission on the selling price for each bag.
Total commission = $3200

Assume Total SP be x

20% of x = 3200 => x = 16000

SP of each product be 16000/400 = $40

IMO Answer should be Option A

Commission = 20% of selling price

For 400 mulchs, commission = 3200
—> For 1 mulch, commission = 3200/400 = $8

—> 8 = 20/100*SP
—> SP = $40

IMO Option A

20% commission on each bag sold.

400 bags sold at a commission of 3200

Commission on per bag: 8

X: be Selling price of the bag

20/100% of X= 8

Therefore X= 8*100/20= 40

IMO A

20% commission on sales = 3200
Therefore, the Sales value for 400 bags= 16000
So one bag cost= 40.
A is correct.
