In option D, I understand that increasing and resulting are the results of the main clause.
But are these results i.e. increasing and resulting make sense with the subject of the main clause?
Request Experts for the explanation.

A great cause of concern among public health specialists is the preponderance of dioxins and polychlorinated biphenols in the food chain, increasing the risk of bio-accumulation of these toxins in fatty tissue and to result in elevated risk of developing sarcomas.

A. increasing the risk of bio-accumulation of these toxins in fatty tissue and to result

Parallelism mistake

B. with increased risk of bio-accumulation of these toxins in fatty tissue and resulting

Parallelism mistake

C. and their increased bio-accumulation in fatty tissue, which results

Modifies fatty tissue, hence wrong

D. increasing the risk of bio-accumulation of these toxins in fatty tissues and resulting

E. to increase the risk of their bio-accumulation in fatty tissue and to result

It changes the meaning, cause of concern is to increase the risk? Doesn't seem to make sense to me
