East Side Energy Supply is 45% of Total Energy

West Side Energy Supply is 55% of Total Energy

Given, battery banks store energy at the same rate and over the same period.

So kWh1:kWh2 = 45:55 => 9:11

So answer is 9kWh & 11 kWh

This is the correct explanantion!

Official Explanation:
Let the total energy stored by both battery banks be E kWh.
  • The east side battery bank stores 45% of the total energy: Energy stored by the east side=0.45E
  • The west side battery bank stores 55% of the total energy: Energy stored by the west side=0.55E
  • We are asked to select two values that are consistent with the 45%-55% ratio. To simplify, the ratio must be 45:55 or 9:11. Let's check the given values and find which pairs maintain this ratio. Only 1 pair matches this ratio:
  • If the east side battery stores 9 kWh, the west side should store:

    9×55/45=11 kWh. So, the pair is 9 kWh for the east side and 11 kWh for the west side.
