I'm a 690 (43Q, 41V) .. Have decided to retake by mid-June. Took the last GMAT almost a year ago. Devoted 3/4 time to studying Quant and that's what I got. I have already started the prep again. Gone through the MGMAT guides again and feeling quite good compared to the last time. Before moving on to OG practice questions though, I wanted to tackle the colossal giant of the GMAT Quant, the monster that seems impossible to be tamed, the mountain apparently unconquerable and a challenge that appears to be insurmountable as the quest to improve GMAT Quant score continues. And obviously, I'm referring to Probability and Combinatorics (more aptly, a monster hydra with Permutation being its third head).
I, hereby, send a cry of mercy, a prayer from the bottom of my heart which I hope is heartfelt for the Gods of Probability, Combinatorics and Permutation, for I wish either for the monster to be reduced down to a manageable size or for me to be blessed with the strength to not only face the monster as it is head to head but also to successfully slay it.
I have gone through the GMAT Club Mathbook and several other Probability, Combinatorics guides available here for download already in other posts. Somehow, I just can't wrap my head around the different concepts of probability and combination and their combined application. Each question seems to have its own logic where it is difficult to identify recurring patterns within these various kinds of questions. Is there something that I'm missing?
