Hi mais1990,

Since you took your GMAT last Monday, you should have about 9-10 days before your next Official GMAT appointment. Do you have ANY flexibility to push back that Test Date? I ask because I think that you're going to need far more time to improve and hit your score goals than you've given yourself (a 90+ point increase in 15 days is not a realistic goal).

The GMAT is a predictable and standardized Test, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. With your goal though, you're going to need to make some improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections.

Hi Rich, thanks for your response but I am confident in my abilities to execute within a week's time; I have done that before. Assuming that i was to proceed, what road map would you suggest?

Hi mais1990,

From what you've described, there is absolutely no evidence that you are ready to score at the 730+ level (you haven't scored above 670 at any point during your studies) and a week of extra practice time is not likely to change that. However, if you are dead-set on retesting so soon, then your focus clearly should be on the Verbal areas that you've pointed out (CR and RC), since there are so many additional potential points to be had in the Verbal section. You will also need to put some practice time into the Quant section though - if you score just Q46 in Quant again, then you would have to put up a significantly higher performance in the Verbal section to hit a 730+.

If you want to focus on practicing official questions, then that's fine, but you're still going to need to learn the necessary patterns and Tactics for CR and RC (you're probably not going to be able to 'reverse-engineer' all of that just from practice questions).

Just as a reminder - you would likely benefit greatly by pushing back your Test Date and investing in some new resources for the ENTIRE GMAT.

Rich
