A man buys some juice boxes. The boxes are from two different brands. How many boxes of brand A did the man buy if he bought \$5.29 worth of boxes?

(1)
There are 5 Brand A boxes and 4 brand B boxes. This is the only condition that satisfies the total to be \$5.29.

(2)
Doesn't give much info about brand A boxes. Thus, INSUFFICIENT.

I haven't figured out a way to solve such questions other than to work out keep plugging in numbers.

The way I did it is observe the last digits of the numbers, which are 1, 1 and 9.

Thus, the total number of boxes should be a multiple of 9. another easy way is to take note of statement B's info, although we don't use it directly while pluggin-in.

if anybody knows easier methods, please share.
