B: usage of present perfect(has contributed) is incorrect. It indicates that said contribution is for ALL years from 1890 - 2000.

C: which modified United States.

D: modifying phrase "having.." modified US
E> same as in D

The bold part: I think the tense should be present perfect coz the population which contributes that share are still alive after the survey done :wink:

B. "since", bolded and highlighted above, is not underlined, so look for has/have as necessary. so B fits.

It should be 'B' .

'A' also sounds like, "it's the largest share that any country can contribute".

Definately (B). Since is the dead giveaway that we need to use the present perfect tense, and only B does that.
