Need to find the number of cups of Flaxseed.
Statement 1:
(1) There are a total of 15 cups in the mixture.
1x + 4x = 5x = 15 cups. Hence, x =3.
Therefore , the number of Flaxseed cups = 3. Hence
sufficient.
Statement 2:
(2) The ratio of the number of cups of flaxseed to the total number of cups in the mixture is 1 to 5.
The ratio of Flaxseed : Total 🟰 1:5. Thus, it can be inferred that the number of cornmeal is 4.
flaxseed : cornmeal : total = 1x:4x:5x
If x = 1, the ratio is 1:4:5
If x =2, then ratio is 2:8:10
so, we can’t arrive anything concrete. Hence,
insufficient Option A
