This question seems odd. I either completely misunderstand it, or the radius of that well is irrelevant. If the guy rides with 54kph for 5 minutes he will ride 4.5km. Answer C. However, I think have never seen a PS question before where they actually provide irrelevant information. Does that happen?

Answer = C. 4.5 kms

Distance travelled \(= 54 * \frac{5}{60} = 4.5 Kms\)

Radius is not required for computation of the answer

Answer C = 4.5km.
I agree the radius seems irrelevant.
Distance =54kmph*5 mins = 4.5kms.

I also did (54/60)*5 = 270/60 = 4.5, and was tempted to choose E, because I didn't know what to do with the radius...

I guess the fact that E exists should make us think that the radius is actually there to create confusion. I think that most of the time answers such as "none of the above" are wrong..

I felt the same way and I dont think we need to know the radius of cylinder. Unless there is a logic.

One logic question out this could be.. 'How many revolutions did the stunt man make'

The radius info is irrelevant. Answer is 4.5kms.

Since distance = rate x time and 5 minutes = 5/60 = 1/12 hour, we have:

Distance = 54 x 1/12 = 54/12 = 9/2 = 4.5 km

Answer: C
