A new device uses the global positioning system to determine a cow's location and, when a cow strays outside of its pasture, makes noises in the cow's ears to steer it back to its home range. Outfitting all of the cattle in a herd with this device is far more expensive than other means of keeping cattle in their pastures, such as fences. The device's make nevertheless predicts that ranchers will purchase the device at its current price.

Which one of the following, if true, does the most to support the prediction made by the device's maker?

A)The price of the device will come down appreciably if the device's maker is able to produce it in large quantities.

B)As they graze, cattle in a herd follow the lead of the same few members of the herd.

C)The device has been shown not to cause significant stress to cattle.

D)The device has been shown to be as effective as fences at keeping cattle in their pastures.

E)The device's maker offers significant discounts to purchasers who buy in bulk.

The device is not required for all .
Only a few in front , whom the others follow would require the device .

Low Cost of Implementation --yes !!
The Ranchers will therefore use the device.

The contention is between B and E. Choose E but this is wrong. All other options are irrelevant

It cannot be E as the question stem mentions that fitting all the cows of the heard with the device is expensive. So it can be inferred that even with the huge discounts on bulk purchases (assuming all the cows of a heard will be fitted with the device), it is still expensive than other methods.

I would not assume this. I think that E is wrong because conclusion mentions "current price" and discount is not a current price.

if cattle follow the lead of the same few members then ranchers can equip a few animals with the device thereby justifying the high price and taking advantage of the technology at the same time. (B)
