Solution

Given:
    • A person starts from A and passes through B and C, arrives D at last

To find:
    • If he go forward only to east and north, in how many ways can he finish the trip

Approach and Working Out:
    • A to B = 2 ways
    • B to C = 3 ways
    • C to D = 6 ways

Therefore, total number of ways in which he can go from A to D = 2 * 3 * 6 = 36 ways

Hence, the correct answer is Option C.

Answer: C
