Let's reverse-engineer this information.
The third flight was 45 miles. The plane traveled three times as far on the second flight as on the third flight
So, length of second flight = (3)(45) = 135
The plane traveled twice as far on the first flight as on the second flight
So, length of first flight = (2)(135) = 270
Answer: E

Solve in parts -
3rd flight = \(45\) miles
