One important conversion that should be remembered is how many seconds there are in an hour, which is 3600 (60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 60*60=3600).
So 5ml/s is 5*3600ml/h. That's the same as 5*3.6l/h.
5*3.6=18.
Hence the answer is D.

- • A pool is losing water at a rate of 5 milliliters per second
• 1 liter = 1000 milliliters
To find:
- • The amount of water, in liters, that the pool will lose in 1 hour
Approach and Working:
In 1 second, the pool is losing 5 milliliters water
- • Therefore, in 1hour, the pool will lose = \(5 * 60 * 60\) milliliters of water = \(\frac{5 * 60 * 60}{1000}\) = 18 liters
Hence, the correct answer is option D.
