A positive integer, N, is the largest 2-digit integer that leaves the remainder 1 when it is divided by either 4 or 5. What is the maximum 2-digit integer that should be subtracted from N to get a positive integer divisible by 7?

Largest two digit no divisible by 4 and 5 is 80. So the number that leaves a remainder 1 will be 81.
81-74 = 7; which is divisible by 7.
Ans : D

Numbers that are divisible by both 4 and 5 are 20 40 60 80 etc
Given the number leaves a remainder of 1 when divided by both 4 and 5. So it can be 21 41 61 and 81
Since it is the largest 2 digit number
N = 81
Now we need to find out the largest integral number when subtracted from 81 should be divisible by 7
As per your thoughts, 0 is also divisible by 7, so the highest number should be 81
But the question asks " To get a positive integer divisible by 7 "
That means the integer is 7
And we need to subtract 81-x = 7
X= 74
Ans: Option D
