I am applying for R2 deadlines which for all the schools I am applying to is Jan 5. When I took GMAT before, I did not sent my scores to these schools. Not satisfied with my previous GMAT score, I am retaking GMAT is on 30 Dec. I am thinking of adding these schools to the list of 5 universities before taking GMAT on Dec 30. They probably will not receive the score card by the deadline, Jan 5. They do not have my previous GMAT score cards either. Would I still meet their R2 deadline if I ask GMAC to send my score card before taking the exam on Dec 30?
Also, I will know the verbal and quant score immediately after finishing the exam. I can enter these new, hopefully improved, scores in the application. However, what should I enter for the essay score in the Ross application, since I would not know that score by Jan 5?

When you send the new score to these 5 schools, they will see your previous score too. So really there is no way to hide any score. As for deadlines, I think as long as you take the gmat before the deadline you are fine. They need to see the official report only if they decide to admit you...
