Thanks for your quick motivational reply guys. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the score, not sure though how much time it will take.

Hi nakmahon. Meanwhile, why don't you go ahead and share your prep strategy, online exam experience and your target b schools and background? It would help with the anxiety as well!

I will share my experience for sure. However I would like to wait for my scores, as then it will make more sense to detail and share.

So I got my result last week (apology fo this long pause- was still digesting the results)
V 27, Q 50 and IR 3 (seriously?)
And I realized what had happened during the exam.
Brain Freeze- I was waiting for a probability question throughout my Quant section and as I did not get one I came under serious pressure to perform better in verbal. And it impacted me big time.
But IR? Whenever I gave IR during practice I scored not less than 6 (and mostly 7 and 8), however the actual GMAT score in IR was a stunner. Either I was totally underprepared (I doubt that) or the Quant section impacted IR as well.
Whatever the case be I have filled the GMAT again for Nov and this time at the examcenter and trying to work through my mental stability.
Wish me all the best.

Hi nakmahon,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Nitin, there can be easy questions in Probability and Bold-Face also. So, presence or absence of these questions on your examination day, doesn't really signal anything.

Verbal clearly proved to be your undoing. Might be a good idea for you to order a ESR, for a post-mortem.

Good luck with your next attempt!
