That was a good read. It's good to get a perspective from the people that are living through this and not just reporters talking about it.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but after GM's reported loss of $39Bi, the S&P is melting... -2,96%

Things are getting very ugly.

Just do not "marry" to them, sell when you have your target profit, it seems market will get very nasty the next weeks...

quite opposite. I keep my stocks "forever" unless the company management changes, they change their strategy, or they make a serious blunder. I invest for the long term ("marry"). So far most of the stocks I have left are quite far in the green, and I still have stuff from 2002-3 time frame. :)

very true, I generally don't buy any financial company stocks. Mostly tech and retail, things I know about or use (following Peter Lynch's principles).
