Trivial application of UNITS CONTROL, one of the most powerful tools of our method!

(We assume the units length is centimeters, just for didactic reasons.)

\(?\,\,\, = \,\,\,800 \cdot 300\,\,{\rm{c}}{{\rm{m}}^2}\,\,\left( {{{1\,\,{\rm{tile}}} \over {12\, \cdot 25\,\,{\rm{c}}{{\rm{m}}^2}}}} \right)\,\,\,\, = \,\,\,\,{{800 \cdot 3 \cdot 4 \cdot 25} \over {3 \cdot 4 \cdot 25}}\,\,{\rm{tiles}}\,\,\, = \,\,\,800\,\,\,{\rm{tiles}}\)


This solution follows the notations and rationale taught in the GMATH method.

IMHO \(x = *\) ( In this case , if I am not wrong)

Number of tiles required is \(\frac{800*300}{12*25} = 800\), Thus, Answer must be (E) 800

Now, \(\frac{800}{25} = 32\) and \(\frac{300}{12} = 25.\) Thus, the number of tiles required is \(32 * 25 = 800\).

Therefore, the answer is E.
