(We assume the units length is centimeters, just for didactic reasons.) $$?\,\,\, = \,\,\,800 \cdot 300\,\,{\rm{c}}{{\rm{m}}^2}\,\,\left( {{{1\,\,{\rm{tile}}} \over {12\, \cdot 25\,\,{\rm{c}}{{\rm{m}}^2}}}} \right)\,\,\,\, = \,\,\,\,{{800 \cdot 3 \cdot 4 \cdot 25} \over {3 \cdot 4 \cdot 25}}\,\,{\rm{tiles}}\,\,\, = \,\,\,800\,\,\,{\rm{tiles}}$$ This solution follows the notations and rationale taught in the GMATH method. If the wall is tiled [#permalink] ### Show Tags 17 Jan 2019, 02:08 => Now, $$\frac{800}{25} = 32$$ and $$\frac{300}{12} = 25.$$ Thus, the number of tiles required is $$32 * 25 = 800$$. Therefore, the answer is E.
