(1) The ratio of bananas to carrots is 50 to 21

Solution:
(1) a:b = 2:5 // c:d = 3:7 // b:c = 50:21 --> a:b:c:d = 20:50:21:49 --> apples to dates = 20:49 -- Sufficient

(2) 7x +10y = 280 -- can not be solved further -- not-sufficient

A:B::2:5
C:D::3:7

(1) B:C::50:21

A:B:C:D::20:50:21:49
A:D::20:49
Sufficient

A+B+C+D = 280
A, B, C, D can be 20, 50, 63, 147 or 40, 100, 42, 98 or 60, 150, 21, 49
Not sufficient
