Interesting data to look at, two of the most popular schools on here this year happen to both be in Chicago. GSB and Kellogg both got a ton of love on the club and our success overall was very good, better than the real admit rates so it shows the caliber of the people on here. I also know that a lot of folks who didn’t get into either of these have admits to other great schools.
Here is a rough look at the numbers (these are still changing but it’s a picture of the current state).
63 applicants to GSB for R1 and R2. 20 admits for an overall success rate of 31.7%
22 R1 applicants, with 10 admits for an admit rate of 45.5%
41 R2 applicants, with 10 admits for an admit rate of 24.4%
Note: there are still 10 folks have not reported decisions for R2.
62 applicants to Kellogg for R1 and R2. 19 admits for an overall success rate of 30.6%
29 R1 applicants, with 11 admits for an admit rate of 37.9%
33 R2 applicants, with 8 admits for an admit rate of 24.2%
Note: there are still 12 folks have not reported decisions for R2.
One can assume that from this point on there will be more success at K but overall the schools are extremely close in numbers for applicants and admits. There are also still some WL at both so hopefully that helps bring them up even more.
As of right now there are 4 folks 99.99% on GSB and 7 folks 99.99% on Kellogg. (A few are folks waiting on WL returns for other schools still so they still reserve the right to change their mind). So 11 people as of today have basically stated they are heading to the city of Chicago right now (only 2 folks have stated they are definitely NOT going, Forcefeed (HBS) and BCC145 (Wharton)).
Here is something else that’s pretty interesting: 22 folks applied to both Kellogg and GSB:
So far only 3 people have gotten into both (apolloluna, ghgirl, and nervousgmat…all females hmm conspiracy??) as of right now only Apollo has made her decision (sorry Rhyme you couldn’t sway her).
There are 5 people with at least one unknown status three of these happen to have admits to GSB and only one doesn’t know about either. So only two folks still have the super stressed feeling (sorry JDMBA and Trojan).
There were 6 people who got into one school but not the other, 3 got into GSB and 3 got into Kellogg.
There were 8 folks who were dinged by both.
The chance of someone who applied to both schools to get at least one admit was 54% (if JD and trojan get into one then its 64%). Let this be a lesson to folks next year, apply to both since they obviously share data about whose going where…of course they seem to be fighting over the girls haha.
Congrats to the 36 different admits to Kellogg and GSB. Hopefully, most everyone ends up in the windy city. We definitely will have quiet the party going on somewhere downtown this fall. Maybe the people from Ross can travel to visit since its not that far and flights between the two are very very cheap (150 or less round trip). There will be room on my couch if you don’t mind a dog trying to join you.
