A shopkeeper was selling apples, mangoes, oranges and bananas. The price of one mango was 25% more than that of an apple, 50% more than that of an orange and 100% more than that of a banana. What was the percentage share of revenue from oranges as compared to the total revenue from all the fruits?
(1) The numbers of bananas, mangoes, apples and oranges sold were in the ratio 4:1:2:3.
(2) The total revenue from the sale of apples, mangoes, oranges and bananas is $66.
We have to find the revenue share from orange as compared to revenue from all the fruits.
Statement 1 - The numbers of bananas, mangoes, apples and oranges sold were in the ratio 4:1:2:3.
We know the relation of price per fruit in terms of price of mango. We also know the ratio of numbers of the 4 fruits. Ratio of revenue from orange to ratio of revenue from all the fruits can be found out as the common factor of price of mango will cancel out in both numerator and denominator.
Sufficient
Statement 2 - The total revenue from the sale of apples, mangoes, oranges and bananas is $66
We can't find out the ratio of revenue by this statement
