Haha, I think the whole housing market crisis has not set in yet, probably wont for a good year and a half (if it does?). But since the market is coming off such a stellar run, people are speculative and are making things seem worse than it is. However, I really cannot help but worry.

We met with a realtor yesterday and will be putting the place on the market in the next month. I'm not too worried about it - Ithaca's prices are high for upstate NY, but never experienced the level of insanity that so many other markets did. And we continue to have a solid local job market with a lot of housing demand due to the regular influx of grad students and Cornell professionals, plus all the folks outside the county who commute in but would like to live here. And then there are the people who moved here because it's such a great town. The local forecast is slower, but still solid.
Obviously, we haven't sold yet, but I am confident we'll get our money's worth and will have a little nest egg as well. Maybe we'll buy a place in Durham. I hate the idea of renting again.
