(A) $4500 (B)$9000

(C) $13,500 (D)$15,500

(E) $27,000 Since the average profit for a 8-hour shift from Sunday to Thursday is$600,
the total amount made during Friday and Saturday is 1.25*600 = $750. Since there are three shifts in a day, the total number of shifts in the week is 21, of which 6 shifts happen on Friday and Saturday. Therefore, the total weekly profit from the Slot machine is $$15*600 + 6*750 = 9000 + 4500 = 13500$$ (Option C) _________________ You've got what it takes, but it will take everything you've got Manager Joined: 23 Sep 2016 Posts: 217 Re: A slot machine in a Las Vegas casino has an average profit of$600 fo  [#permalink]

solu. each day for 5 days $600 and 25% greater on friday and saturday so 600*1/4=600= 720. Now machines work for whole 24 hrs so 24/8 means 3 shifts perday. so total weekly profit= 600*5(days)*3(shifts)+ 720*2(days)*3(shifts)=600*15+720*6=13500 which is c option. Since each day has three 8-hour shifts for each day from Sunday to Thursday, inclusive, the slot machine makes 600 x 3 = $1,800 profit. For each day of Friday and Saturday, the profit is 1,800 x 1.25 =$2,250. Thus, the total weekly profit is:

1,800 x 5 + 2,250 x 2 = 9,000 + 4,500 = $13,500 Answer: C _________________ Scott Woodbury-Stewart Founder and CEO GMAT Quant Self-Study Course 500+ lessons 3000+ practice problems 800+ HD solutions Re: A slot machine in a Las Vegas casino has an average profit of$600 fo &nbs [#permalink] 20 Feb 2018, 16:16
