A store normally charges $0.85 per package of spaghetti, regardless of the number of packages bought. What will be the cost of 5 packages of spaghetti if the regular price is reduced?
(1) The cost of 5 packages of spaghetti at the reduced price is $2.75.
(2) When purchased at the reduced price, each package of spaghetti is $0.30 less than when each package is bought at the original price.

The first statement is pretty self-explanatory, and hence is sufficient
It answers the question directly – the cost of 5 packages of spaghetti at the reduced price is $2.75
The second one is also sufficient, as it allows us to calculate the cost of a singe package after reducing the price ($o.85 - $0.30 = $0.55); multiply the value by 5 and you get the cost of the packages at the reduced cost ($0.55 x 5 = $2.75)
Answer: D
