Cost price of 10 appliances = 10 * $150 = $1500

The store actually sold only 9 appliances as one of the appliances was kept as floor - model.

5 of these appliances at p dollars each, sold 4 of the appliances at $225 each

Revenue = 5*p + (4*225) = 5p + 900

5p + 900 = 1500 + 375

5p = 1500 - 900 + 375

5p = 600 + 375

p = \(\frac{975}{5}\) = 195

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price
375 = 5p + 4*225 - 1500
375 = 5p + 900 - 1500
375 = 5p - 600
5p = 975
p = 195.

Revenue = 5p + 4(225) = 5p + 900 dollars

Cost = 10(150) = 1,500 dollars

Since the store’s profit was $375, we have:

Revenue – Cost = Profit

5p + 900 – 1,500 = 375

5p = 975

p = $195

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price

Responding to a pm:

Total cost to the store of buying 10 items = 150*10
Profit earned = $375
Hence revenue earned = 1500 + 375 = 1875

Revenue from sale of 4 items  = 4*225 = 900
Revenue from sale of 5 items = 1875 - 900 = 975
Selling price of each item = 975/5 = $195

Answer (B)

( peaky - No revenue was earned from floor model so it is ignored in the revenue calculation)
