Yes you are correct buddy. I went with D, but I checked dictionary about farther VS further. Yes FARTHER is used to describe physical distance, while FURTHER is used to discribe abstract things.

Which one is correct ?

a) We have covered a long distance from our house. Whether we need to got further in search of the shop?
b) We have covered a long distance from our house. Whether we need to got farther in search of the shop?

Expert, could you help us know that which one is correct? The reason for asking this question is that quite often than not we prefer to use 1st option. Whether such frequent usages are incorrect as per the dictionary distinction - as many has pointed out - between "further" and "farther"?

Hello abhishekmayank,

We hope this finds you well.

To answer your query, in the context you have put forward "farther" is correct, as it refers to literal, physical distance.

We hope this helps.
All the best!
