E. Only a plant could be cultivated, not a derivative or a substance.

A derivative is something you derive or extract out of another thing. So clearly, you cannot cultivate a derivative.

Only E seems to clearly show that MP is grown in China.

I answered A because I felt that E alters the meaning. Any thoughts?

I got this wrong but love this question. If you assume the derivative cannot be cultivated, pretty simple to get to E.

If you assume for a second that the derivative can be cultivated, then the beauty of the structures of the choices can be appreciated.

Then C is most correct among remaining choices but others wrong :)

wanted to go with E; but the before mamdascagar threw me off; hence, went for B.
if the at the beginning in E is typo; E is correct; otherwise we have to underline A as well in the question stem.
