Discount =80-68 = 12

Solution:




After giving some discount on $80, the suit is given at $68. We need to find the percentage discount.

Let the discount be d%.

    • $68= $80- d% of $80
    • $68= $80- d/100* $80
    • d/100* $80= $12
    • d= 15

Thus, after 15% discount, the suit was given at $68.
