A tank, which usually takes 5 hours to be filled, takes 6 hours to fill because of a leak. Find the time in which the leak can empty the tank if it is filled and the inlet pipe is shut.

A. 30 hours
B. 27.5 hours
C. 25 hours
D. 22.5 hours
E. 20 hours

Explanation:

Let assume water tank Capacity: 120

Per Hour rate filling when no leakage: 120/5 = 24
Per Hour rate filling with leakage: 120/6 = 20

Change in rate per hour = 24-20 = 4

So, Total time, when the tank in full & inlet is closed: 120/4 = 30 Hours
