A train starts from Agra to Mathura at 60 km/h and reaches there in 45 min. If at the time of returning its speed is reduced by 10%, how much time will it take from Mathura to Agra?

Explanation: train initial speed=60 km/hr or
train reaches agra to mathura= 45 min or (45/60 hr)
so, distance b/w agra to mathura= 60*45/60 km
=45 km
train reduced speed= 60- (10% of 60) km/hr
=54 km/hr
time taken in return journey=Distance/reduced speed
=45/54 hr
=(5/6) *60 min
=50 min
Hence B is the correct answer.

Solution:
The distance between Agra and Mathura is 60 x 45/60 = 45 km. Since the returning speed is 60 x 0.9 = 54 km/h, the time it takes to return to Agra from Mathura is 45/54 = 5/6 hr = 50 minutes.
Answer: B
