Formula for average speed is Total distance divided by total time. since we have not been given a distance, we can choose a distance that is evenly divided by the two speeds 75 and 60. i used 600 so the 1st half is 300 and 2nd half is also 300 totalling 600. when i divide both distances, i get 4 hours and 5 hour equalling to 9 hrs total. now we divide 600 by 9 to get the average speed of 66.7 Alsways remeber the formula rate * time= distance because you can always manipulate the formula.

first half: t=time, d= distance and 60 is the rate.
so 60t=d/2
second half: T=time d= (total distance) and 75 is the rate
75T=d/2
we want to know what
d/(t+T) =?
T=d/150
t=d/120
d/(d/150+d/120) --> 600/9 ~66.7
