Ok, got it.

Any reason why you use a 1-7 scale for the first question and a -4 to 4 scale for the second? And on question 1, 7 is marked as being "extremely unimportant."

Is that intentional?

Another question would be how you expect to receive relevant responses to question 2 from folks who know nothing about the Duke MBA? Or are we assuming that everyone being surveyed will be familiar with the Duke MBA?

The survey actually took me 13 minutes to complete, but I was posting random responses to question 2 since I've never researched Duke enough to have an opinion about what was being asked.

First, THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS!!! You've already helped a lot.

Yes. It has to do with the way the multi-attitudinal attribute model works.

Nope. I saw it after I sent it to you.

Our sample would be drawn from people who have requested info or attended an info session in the last year, so they presumably are thinking of these issues.

Do you think if you were taking the survey for a school that you have researched, it would have gone faster or slower?

Probably slower, I would have thought more about my responses.
I just put in "0" for most of the Duke questions in section 2, except for the one that talked about prestige.

My response is attached below. It took me 2 minutes to complete the survey and I didn't encounter anything confusing.

Yes, sure. I am admittedly very green when it comes to marketing theory.

Mine is here.

I still have the 7 as "very UNimportant" on my survey.

Also had the issue with not knowing Duke at all. I did some basic Fuqua website research to try to answer it, so it took me about 8 minutes to finish. Otherwise, if it's a school I've researched, it would take about 5 minutes or fewer.

Hope this helps!

Here are my responses. I also have not done so much research on Duke before this, so it took me 7 minutes to complete.

Edit: Oh, I just realised data did not matter to you. In which case, my first shot at this took about 3 minutes.I did not find anything about the survey that was annoying, but in parts it almost felt like a psychology test - trying to ask the same question in different ways.

Attached is my response. It took me 7 minutes to complete the survey. I'm just starting to research schools so my knowledge about Duke MBA program is limited to what I gained on internet including this forum. I have one question though about your methodology. Are you trying to get important factors or relative importance of factors. If its the latter better method is to ask participants to distribute say 100 points among all the factors. Other wise everybody is going to rate them higher.Don't you think so?
