Between C & D.
I prefer C cause there is no redundance.

Could someone explain me the difference between :

twice as fast as X
twice faster than X

Is it exactly the same meaning, same usage, one being more wordy than the other ?

Between A and D, I chose D.

Hello,

The OA is C, but I really don't know what's wrong with (A).

Does anyone know ?

Thank you

Re: According to a government study, the lush swamps and marshes [#permalink]
hi

can anyone explain why C is correct and D incorrect???
i think D clearly compares rate with rate which none of the other choices do

how is "two and a half times faster than..." better than "two and a half times as fast as...." ???

i believe both have different meaning as explained by hard-worker indian

n the intended meaning of the sentence is "two and a half times as fast as...."

can any grammer gurus throw some light

thanx

I would take a C as well..short and clear..no redundancies...
